Iranian Shahed Drone Reportedly Hits Dubai International Airport: Israeli Media

Israeli media outlet Kann News has reported that an Iranian Shahed drone struck Dubai International Airport, triggering alarm and brief disruption at one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs.

According to initial reports, the drone attack occurred amid the ongoing regional tensions linked to the Iran–Israel conflict, which has seen a surge in missile and drone exchanges across the Middle East. Videos circulating on social media appeared to show an explosion or impact near the airport area.

However, authorities in the United Arab Emirates later clarified that the incident was caused by debris from an intercepted drone rather than a direct strike on airport infrastructure. Officials confirmed that emergency protocols were activated and the situation was quickly brought under control.

Flight operations at Dubai International Airport experienced temporary disruption, with some aircraft delayed or diverted as precautionary measures were implemented.

The incident has heightened concerns about the spillover effects of the Iran–Israel confrontation on Gulf nations, particularly key economic and aviation hubs like Dubai. Authorities have reassured travellers that safety measures remain in place and airport operations have gradually resumed.
