‘Lighting World and Home Tech Expo’ To Shape Future Of Smart Lighting And Home Technology In India
ELCOMA and Ace Exhibitions announce India’s first dedicated platform for smart lighting and home technology, scheduled to debut in January 2027 at Bharat Mandapam.
ELCOMA and Ace Exhibitions have jointly announced the launch of the “Lighting World and Home Tech Expo”, a first-of-its-kind platform in India dedicated exclusively to smart lighting solutions and next-generation home technology.
The announcement was made during a special event held at the India Habitat Centre, where both organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and hosted a discussion on the theme “The Future of Smart Lighting and Home Technology in India.” Industry leaders, policymakers and technology experts participated in the event.
The inaugural edition of the expo will be held from January 14 to 16, 2027, at Bharat Mandapam. The event is expected to serve as a major B2B and B2C platform showcasing the complete ecosystem of lighting and smart home technologies.
The expo will feature products and innovations including lamps, lighting equipment, components, automation systems, AV integration, energy management technologies and smart home solutions.
The initiative comes at a time when India’s lighting and smart home sectors are witnessing rapid growth. According to industry estimates shared during the announcement, India’s lighting market, valued at around USD 3.83 billion in 2025, is projected to reach USD 5.12 billion by 2031.
Meanwhile, the smart lighting segment is expected to grow from nearly USD 1.2 billion in 2025 to over USD 11.5 billion by 2034, driven by the increasing adoption of IoT-based systems, human-centric lighting and voice-controlled technologies.
India’s smart home market is also projected to expand significantly, rising from USD 5.2 billion in 2025 to nearly USD 24.1 billion by 2031.
Speaking at the event, Parag Bhatnagar said India’s lighting industry is rapidly moving towards smart, connected and sustainable technologies, adding that the platform would encourage innovation, collaboration and future-ready solutions.
Amal Sengupta highlighted how the integration of smart lighting and home automation is transforming the industry and said the expo would provide manufacturers, designers and technology experts an opportunity to exchange ideas and showcase advanced solutions.
Anupreet Singh Jaggi described the expo as an effort to bring the worlds of lighting and home automation together on a single platform. He added that the initiative aligns with India’s Smart Cities Mission and the country’s sustainable development goals, while also supporting innovation and “Make in India” products.
The three-day expo will include exhibitions, technical seminars, buyer-seller meetings, innovation showcases, awards and workshops on emerging technologies such as Li-Fi, circadian lighting, AI-based automation and net-zero building solutions.
Founded in 1970, ELCOMA is one of India’s leading industry bodies representing manufacturers of lamps, lighting equipment and components. The organisation works closely with the government and industry stakeholders to promote quality, innovation and energy efficiency in the sector.
