RCB Go Top of IPL 2026 Table After Dominant Win Over LSG
Kohli leads run charts; Prasidh Krishna holds Purple Cap
New Delhi | April 16, 2026 Royal Challengers Bengaluru climbed to the top of the Indian Premier League 2026 points table after a convincing victory over Lucknow Super Giants at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
RCB secured their fourth win in five matches, showcasing a dominant all-round performance. After restricting LSG to 146 runs, they chased down the target comfortably in just 15.1 overs, reaching eight points and taking the top spot with a superior net run rate.
Rajasthan Royals also have eight points but remain second due to a lower net run rate. Punjab Kings, currently unbeaten, sit third with seven points and have a chance to move to the top depending on their upcoming match against Mumbai Indians, who are struggling in ninth place.
Sunrisers Hyderabad occupy the fourth spot, followed by Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans in fifth and sixth positions respectively. LSG are placed seventh, while Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders continue to struggle in the lower half of the table.
Orange & Purple Cap Race Heats Up
Virat Kohli leads the run-scoring charts and currently holds the Orange Cap with 228 runs in five matches, including a crucial 49-run knock in the latest game. Close behind are Heinrich Klaasen (224 runs) and Rajat Patidar (222 runs), making the race increasingly competitive.
On the bowling front, Prasidh Krishna and Anshul Kamboj are tied with 10 wickets each. However, Prasidh Krishna holds the Purple Cap due to a better bowling average, with Ravi Bishnoi close behind with nine wickets.
As IPL 2026 progresses, both the points table and individual leaderboards are shaping up for an intense battle ahead.
