Gujarat Titans Outclass RCB by 4 Wickets in IPL 2026 Clash

In Match 42 of the IPL 2026, Gujarat Titans secured a convincing four-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Narendra Modi Stadium on April 30.

After winning the toss, GT captain Shubman Gill chose to bowl first, a decision that paid off immediately. GT’s pace attack, led by Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj, struck early blows, dismissing key RCB batters including Virat Kohli, who managed a quick 28 off 13 balls.

Devdutt Padikkal provided some resistance with a brisk 40, but RCB’s middle order collapsed under pressure. Captain Rajat Patidar, along with Jitesh Sharma and Tim David, fell in quick succession. Arshad Khan starred with three wickets, while Rashid Khan and Jason Holder chipped in with two each, restricting RCB to 155 in 19.2 overs.

Chasing 156, GT got off to a blazing start. Shubman Gill smashed 43 off just 18 balls, while Jos Buttler added a quickfire 39 off 19 deliveries. Their aggressive partnership put RCB on the back foot early in the innings.

Despite a brief fightback from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who picked up three wickets, and Romario Shepherd, GT remained in control. Rahul Tewatia stayed unbeaten on 27 to guide the team home in just 15.5 overs.

Jason Holder was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance, contributing with both bat and ball and taking three crucial catches.

With this win, Gujarat Titans climbed to fifth place with 10 points, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru remain second with 12 points.
