PM Modi Welcomes Finland President Alexander Stubb on State Visit to India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday welcomed Alexander Stubb, President of Finland, who arrived in India on an official State Visit aimed at deepening bilateral ties between the two nations.

In a message shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence that the visit would elevate India–Finland relations and open new avenues of cooperation. He welcomed President Stubb and said he looked forward to meeting him and discussing ways to strengthen collaboration between the two countries.

Earlier, President Stubb also posted about his visit, noting that he would meet the President of India, the Prime Minister, and other senior leaders during his trip. He highlighted that the visit would focus on expanding cooperation in areas such as trade, technology, and international partnerships.

President Stubb is also scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the Raisina Dialogue 2026, one of India’s premier global conferences on geopolitics and strategic affairs.

The visit reflects the growing partnership between India and Finland, particularly in sectors like innovation, sustainable technology, education, and digital development. Officials from both sides are expected to hold discussions aimed at enhancing economic cooperation and strengthening diplomatic engagement.
