Nishant Kumar to Launch ‘Sadbhav Yatra’ from Champaran, Says Party Workers Upset Over Nitish Kumar’s Resignation

Nishant Kumar, son of Nitish Kumar, is set to begin his ‘Sadbhav Yatra’ (Harmony March) across Bihar, starting from Champaran. Speaking ahead of the journey, he said the resignation of his father from the Chief Minister’s post has left party workers emotionally distressed.

He emphasized that the tour aims to reconnect with grassroots workers and strengthen the party organization. “People have shown love and support to my father for the past 20 years. I hope that affection continues for us as well,” Nishant said.

Explaining the choice of Champaran as the starting point, he noted that it holds symbolic importance, as Nitish Kumar had also launched his earlier political journeys from the same region.

According to the schedule, Nishant will depart from the JD(U) office at 11 AM. Throughout the day, he will visit key locations including Betia, Lauria Nandangarh, and Bagaha. He is expected to pay tribute at statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and other notable figures, interact with party workers, and meet members of tribal communities.

In the evening, he will visit Baba Kaleshwar Nath Temple and inspect the Gandak Barrage before holding meetings with party leaders.

On May 4, Nishant will visit Valmiki Tiger Reserve for a jungle safari and pay tribute to Maharshi Valmiki. Later, he will travel to Betia to interact with party workers at Bapu Auditorium.

JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar stated that Nishant has chosen a path of public engagement over immediate political power, reflecting the values of sacrifice associated with leaders like Emperor Ashoka and Maharshi Valmiki.
