Mamata Banerjee Accuses BJP of Vote Manipulation Ahead of Bengal Polls
West Bengal CM alleges intimidation, conspiracy to divide the state, and electoral irregularities during campaign rallies
Ahead of the West Bengal Assembly Election 2026, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has launched a series of sharp attacks on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of attempting to manipulate the electoral process.
Addressing multiple rallies across Asansol, Chatna, Onda, and Khandaghosh, Banerjee alleged that BJP workers are intimidating candidates of the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) and plotting to divide West Bengal into three parts. She also raised concerns over what she described as irregularities in the voter verification process.
In a controversial claim, Banerjee warned voters to remain cautious, alleging that attempts could be made to tamper with votes through deceptive means. She further termed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise a “major scam” and questioned its intent.
The Chief Minister also claimed that the BJP might introduce a delimitation bill within the next 15 days, suggesting it could significantly impact the electoral landscape.
Her remarks have intensified the political atmosphere in the state, with accusations and counter-accusations expected to dominate the campaign as polling draws closer.
