Former West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Appears at Calcutta High Court in Lawyer’s Attire
TMC chief to appear before Chief Justice HC Sujoy Paul in post-poll violence PIL hearing.
Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived at the Calcutta High Court on Thursday dressed in a lawyer’s robe to appear in connection with a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) related to post-election violence in the state.
According to reports, Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to appear before Chief Justice H. C. Sujoy Paul during the hearing of the matter linked to violence that allegedly took place after the assembly elections.
The PIL was reportedly filed by TMC leader and senior advocate Kalyan Banerjee’s son, Tirthankya Banerjee, seeking judicial intervention into issues related to the post-poll unrest.
Mamata Banerjee’s appearance at the High Court in legal attire has drawn significant political and public attention, as the matter remains one of the most discussed issues in West Bengal politics.
Further proceedings in the case are expected during the court hearing later in the day.
