Fake Letter Row Rocks Rajasthan Politics, Probe Links Trail to MP Congress IT Cell
Bhopal detentions deepen controversy as probe into viral letter points to alleged misinformation network, triggering BJP-Congress face-off across two states
A political storm has erupted in Rajasthan following the circulation of a controversial “fake letter” allegedly issued in the name of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. The controversy has now spilled over into neighboring Madhya Pradesh, with fresh developments adding a new dimension to the case.
The viral letter, widely shared on social media in recent days, falsely claimed to reference a conversation between Vasundhara Raje and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had earlier termed the incident a “malicious political conspiracy” aimed at tarnishing the party’s image and creating rifts among its senior leadership.
As the investigation progressed, the trail reportedly led to members associated with the Congress IT cell in Madhya Pradesh. Acting on these findings, Bhopal Police detained three individuals accused of creating and circulating the fabricated content. Officials indicated that the arrests were part of a broader effort to curb misinformation and identify those responsible for orchestrating the campaign.
Meanwhile, senior Rajasthan Congress leader Harish Chaudhary has come out in defense of party workers, signaling a political pushback amid escalating tensions between the two parties.
The incident has intensified the political discourse in both Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, raising concerns over the misuse of digital platforms for disinformation campaigns. Authorities have assured strict action against those found guilty, while political leaders continue to trade allegations over the intent and origins of the fake letter.
