Two Robbers Arrested in Laxmi Nagar Chain Snatching Case
Delhi Police recover robbed silver chain; accused have prior criminal records
The Delhi Police has arrested two individuals involved in a chain robbery incident in Laxmi Nagar and recovered the stolen silver chain from their possession.
According to officials, the incident took place around 10:30 AM near Kishan Kunj Bus Stop when the complainant, Md. Gulfaraz, was allegedly attacked by two unidentified persons. The suspects reportedly pressed his throat and forcibly snatched his silver chain before fleeing from the spot.
Taking the matter seriously, a special team from Laxmi Nagar Police Station was formed under the supervision of the ACP of Preet Vihar and the leadership of the Station House Officer (SHO) of the police station. The team included SI Dheeraj and HC Rahish Kumar, who immediately began search operations in the surrounding area.
With the help of local intelligence and assistance from the complainant, the police quickly traced and apprehended the accused shortly after the incident. During interrogation, the suspects allegedly confessed to their involvement in the crime, and the robbed silver chain was recovered from them.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sohail (23) and Ali Miraj alias Bhitti (26), both residents of Kishan Kunj in Laxmi Nagar. Police records reveal that Sohail has previously been involved in six criminal cases, while Ali Miraj has three previous involvements.
An FIR (No. 44/2026) has been registered at the police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further investigation into the case is currently underway.
Officials stated that the swift action of the police team helped in solving the robbery case quickly and recovering the stolen property.
