National Lok Adalat to Be Held in Gurugram on March 14

The District Legal Services Authority, Gurugram will organise a National Lok Adalat on March 14 at the district court complex to facilitate the speedy settlement of pending cases.

The event is being conducted under the guidance of judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Executive Chairman of the Haryana State Legal Services Authority. It is being organised as per the directions of Vani Gopal Sharma, who is also the Chairperson of the District Legal Services Authority, Gurugram.

According to Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary of the authority Rakesh Kadian, a total of 21 judicial benches have been constituted to ensure smooth functioning of the Lok Adalat.

Out of these, 12 benches will exclusively handle traffic challan cases, while three benches will deal with cheque bounce matters. The remaining benches will address other pending disputes so that a maximum number of cases can be resolved in a single day.

Apart from the district court complex in Gurugram, Lok Adalat sessions will also be held in Sohna and Pataudi, where one bench each has been constituted to provide easier access to local residents.

To facilitate the settlement of traffic challans, two help desks have also been set up with the support of the traffic police. One help desk is located at the mediation centre near Gate No. 2 of the court complex, while another is inside the court premises to assist citizens with information and settlement procedures.

Officials have urged citizens to present their pending cases before the Lok Adalat, highlighting that disputes resolved through this forum save both time and money and promote amicable settlements.
