Haridwar Bus Accident: 1 Dead, 26 Injured After Bus Overturns Following Truck Collision
Pilgrims returning after a holy dip in the Ganga were injured after a dumper truck allegedly hit their bus near Shantikunj in Haridwar.
A tragic road accident in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar claimed one life and left 26 others injured after a double-decker bus carrying pilgrims overturned following a collision with a dumper truck near Shantikunj on Monday morning.
According to officials, the pilgrims, believed to be from Rajasthan, were returning after taking a holy dip in the Ganga River when the incident occurred. The bus was reportedly travelling in a convoy of three vehicles when a dumper truck entering from a link road allegedly rammed into it from behind, causing the bus to overturn on the highway.
Police and emergency response teams rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. Injured passengers were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals with the help of ambulances and private vehicles. Authorities stated that while most victims suffered minor injuries, a few sustained serious wounds. One woman pilgrim lost her life in the accident.
Officials confirmed that all 26 injured passengers are undergoing treatment and are currently in stable condition. A probe has been initiated to determine the exact circumstances leading to the crash.
