Grand Welcome for PM Modi in Dehradun, Massive 12-Km Roadshow Draws Unprecedented Crowd
PM’s 12-km roadshow marked by massive crowds, patriotic fervour, and warm public reception
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a grand and enthusiastic welcome in Dehradun during his visit for the inauguration of the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor. The visit began on a spiritual note, with the Prime Minister offering prayers at the revered Dat Kali Temple, seeking prosperity and well-being for the nation and Uttarakhand.
One of the highlights of the visit was a nearly 12-kilometre-long roadshow from the temple to the event venue in Dehradun Cantonment. The roadshow witnessed an overwhelming turnout, with thousands of people, including youth, women, and local residents, lining both sides of the roads to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister. The atmosphere was charged with patriotic slogans, reflecting strong public enthusiasm.
Observers described the roadshow as one of the longest undertaken by the Prime Minister, underlining the scale of public engagement. PM Modi acknowledged the crowd’s warmth by greeting people throughout the route, folding his hands and waving in appreciation.
Addressing the gathering later, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the massive turnout and said that Uttarakhand, often referred to as “Devbhoomi,” always energizes him. He noted that the affection and blessings of the people inspire him to work harder toward the nation’s development.
He also mentioned that due to the sheer size of the crowd and continuous public interaction, his convoy moved slowly, resulting in a delay of over an hour in reaching the venue. The Prime Minister apologized for the delay, attributing it to the overwhelming public response.
The event highlighted both the importance of the infrastructure project and the strong connect between the Prime Minister and the people of Uttarakhand.
