Ghaziabad DM Restores Elderly Woman’s House in Just Three Days After Fraud Complaint
Woman Allegedly Lost Home Over ₹1.5 Lakh Loan as Accused Inflated Interest to ₹7 Lakh; Administration Cracks Down on Illegal Occupation
In a swift and decisive action, Ghaziabad District Magistrate (DM) Ravindra Kumar Mandar helped an elderly woman recover her house from illegal occupation within just three days of receiving her complaint, setting an example of prompt justice.
The incident occurred in Pratap Vihar under the Vijay Nagar police station area of Ghaziabad. The victim, identified as Chanchal, approached the District Magistrate during a public grievance hearing on May 29, accusing a man named Taj Mohammad of fraudulently taking possession of her house.
According to Chanchal, she had borrowed only ₹1.5 lakh from the accused and mortgaged the original documents of her house as security. However, Taj Mohammad allegedly increased the interest amount to ₹7 lakh and illegally occupied the property through fraudulent means. The house was later reportedly handed over to another individual named Momin.
After receiving the complaint, DM Ravindra Kumar Mandar immediately ordered an investigation by a joint team of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and police officials. The inquiry reportedly confirmed the allegations. Authorities also found that the accused had previously been jailed in connection with land-grabbing cases. Taking immediate action, the district administration launched an operation on Monday. The DM personally visited the site with police and administrative officials, supervised the removal of the illegal occupation, and handed over the house keys to the emotional victim.
The administration also directed officials to register a criminal case under strict legal provisions and take firm action against those involved in land mafia activities.
After regaining possession of her house, Chanchal became emotional and thanked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the district administration for their swift intervention. She said she would never forget the support extended to her during her difficult time.
Speaking on the matter, the District Magistrate emphasized that protecting poor and vulnerable citizens from exploitation remains the administration’s top priority and assured continued strict action against land mafias.
