Delhi Police Bust Alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba Module; Eight Arrested Across States

In a significant counterterrorism operation, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has claimed to have uncovered an alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) linked network with purported Bangladesh connections. Officials stated that coordinated raids conducted across Delhi, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu led to the arrest of eight individuals, including seven said to be of Bangladeshi origin.

According to police sources, the operation followed intelligence inputs and surveillance efforts. Two of the suspects were reportedly identified with assistance from the CISF after being flagged through posters and alerts circulated at metro stations. Authorities indicated that the arrests were carried out without public disturbance, emphasizing inter-agency coordination.

Investigators allege that the accused attempted to conceal their identities by obtaining Indian identification documents and were residing in the country illegally. Police further claimed that the suspects were involved in activities considered prejudicial to national security, though detailed charges and evidence are expected to emerge during the judicial process.

Items reportedly recovered during the operation include:

Pro-Pakistan and extremist posters

10 mobile phones

25 credit/debit cards

5 POS machines

Bangladeshi passports and identification documents

Security agencies are continuing their investigation to establish the full scope of the alleged network, including possible financial and logistical links. Officials have not ruled out further detentions as the probe progresses.

The development comes amid ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to monitor and disrupt suspected extremist activities. Authorities have reiterated that the matter remains under investigation, and the accused will be subject to due legal proceedings in accordance with the law.
