U.S. Deports 200 Indians, Including Wanted Gangster Anmol Bishnoi, to New Delhi

A U.S. deportation flight carrying 200 Indian nationals, including wanted gangster Anmol Bishnoi, is scheduled to land in New Delhi at 10 am on Wednesday, officials confirmed. The group includes Anmol Bishnoi, two fugitives wanted by Punjab Police, and 197 undocumented migrants living illegally in the United States.

Anmol Bishnoi, younger brother of jailed gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi, has long been wanted by Indian agencies for his alleged involvement in major criminal activities. He is a prime suspect in the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, a case that drew nationwide attention.

In addition, he is wanted for his alleged role in the April 2024 firing outside actor Salman Khan’s residence, an incident that intensified security concerns linked to the Bishnoi gang’s expanding operations. His name frequently appears in cases involving extortion, cross-border crime networks, and targeted killings.

Officials stated that the deportation flight includes individuals detained during U.S. immigration crackdowns. The two other fugitives on board are wanted for serious crimes in Punjab, and will be immediately handed over to Indian police upon arrival.

Security has been tightened at Delhi airport, with a joint team from Delhi Police, Punjab Police, and central intelligence agencies coordinating the high-risk transfer. Authorities expect enhanced monitoring throughout the arrival and custody handover process.

The deportation highlights growing cooperation between India and the United States in areas of criminal intelligence sharing, extraditions, and repatriation of fugitives. Investigations into Bishnoi’s overseas operations and finances are expected to intensify once he is back in India.
