New Delhi, November 13 — Panic gripped South Delhi’s Mahipalpur area on Wednesday night after reports of an explosion near the Radisson Hotel surfaced.
According to officials, the Delhi Fire Department received a call reporting an explosion at 9:18 PM, following which multiple teams were rushed to the site. Police officials also reached the location immediately to verify the situation.
However, after an extensive search of the area, no evidence of any blast or suspicious activity was found.
A senior police officer stated that the call was made by a woman who claimed to have heard the sound of an explosion near the hotel. “Upon inspection, no signs of any explosion or damage were observed. The situation is normal,” the officer confirmed.
Authorities are now verifying the source of the call and the caller’s identity to determine the cause of the false alarm.
Security in and around the Mahipalpur area remains tightened as a precautionary measure.
