NCB and Rajasthan Police Bust Major Clandestine Drug Lab in Sirohi, Seize Chemicals Worth ₹40 Crore

In a major blow to drug trafficking networks, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), in close coordination with the Rajasthan Police, has dismantled a large clandestine synthetic drug laboratory in a remote village of Sirohi district, Rajasthan.

The operation — conducted under the Modi Government’s zero-tolerance policy against narcotics — resulted in:

• seizure of hundreds of kilograms of chemical precursors,
• valued at approximately ₹40 crore,
• arrest of five accused, including the mastermind.

🔹 Chemicals enough to produce 100 kg of Mephedrone

According to official sources, the recovered chemicals could be used to manufacture nearly 100 kilograms of Mephedrone, a synthetic psychotropic drug whose usage has rapidly increased across:

• Rajasthan
• Madhya Pradesh
• Maharashtra

Officials said that such a huge seizure indicates the presence of an organised interstate network.

🔹 Operation as part of ‘Drug-Free Bharat’ Campaign

This operation comes amid the Centre’s intensified national campaign for a Drug-Free Bharat, guided by:

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi
• Union Home Minister Amit Shah

The NCB has been coordinating with multiple state police forces to dismantle drug manufacturing units, trafficking chains, and darknet-based suppliers.

The breakthrough was enabled by:

• detailed technical surveillance,
• tracking of chemical procurement patterns,
• and coordinated field intelligence by NCB’s Ahmedabad and Jodhpur units.

Officials confirmed that the arrested mastermind had been operating the lab for months, procuring precursors from multiple states under forged identities.

Following the Sirohi crackdown, NCB has launched further investigations to identify:

• funding sources
• linkages with international cartels
• interstate buyers and suppliers

Officials did not rule out more arrests in the coming days.
