CDS Gen. Anil Chauhan, French Armed Forces Chief Hold Talks to Boost India–France Defence Partnership

Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan held high-level discussions with General Fabien Mandon, Chief of Staff of the French Armed Forces, aimed at accelerating the India–France strategic defence partnership.
The meeting focused on advancing the Horizon 2047 roadmap, strengthening joint military exercises, and expanding defence-industrial cooperation under India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
Both sides also explored deeper collaboration in:
- space capabilities
- niche & emerging defence technologies
- future-ready military frameworks
Indo-Pacific & Counter-Terrorism Cooperation
Counter-terrorism cooperation and enhancing security architecture in the Indo-Pacific region were among the most important points of convergence.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to:
- regional stability
- collective strategic objectives
- secure and rules-based Indo-Pacific
Productive, Forward-Looking Dialogue
Officials described the talks as “productive” and emphasized the rising convergence between India and France in:
