Trump Announces $5 Billion Pledge for Gaza Reconstruction Ahead of February 19 Board of Peace Meeting

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that member states of the newly formed Board of Peace are expected to pledge more than $5 billion toward humanitarian relief and reconstruction efforts in Gaza during their upcoming meeting on February 19, 2026.

The announcement comes ahead of a high-level gathering at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., where Trump will convene board members to formalize financial commitments and outline the next phase of international stabilization efforts. According to Trump, participating nations have also committed thousands of personnel to support an International Stabilization Force and assist local policing efforts aimed at maintaining long-term security in Gaza.

Trump stated that the Board of Peace, formally launched in Davos, Switzerland, last month, seeks to advance a permanent resolution to the Gaza conflict. He noted that a previous peace framework introduced in October received unanimous backing from the United Nations Security Council and facilitated accelerated humanitarian aid delivery and hostage releases.

Emphasizing security concerns, Trump called on Hamas to commit to full and immediate demilitarization as part of the broader peace process.

The February 19 meeting is expected to outline financial mechanisms, operational coordination, and governance structures aimed at rebuilding Gaza and ensuring long-term regional stability.
