Report Alleges Severe Health Deterioration of Imran Khan in Custody; Vision Loss Claim Surfaces
Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has reportedly suffered significant health complications during his incarceration at Adiala Jail
Islamabad: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has reportedly suffered significant health complications during his incarceration at Adiala Jail, including an alleged 85 percent loss of vision in one eye, according to a report submitted by a court-appointed lawyer.
The findings were detailed in a document prepared by Salman Safdar, who was appointed as amicus curiae (friend of the court) by the Supreme Court. The report raises serious concerns regarding Khan’s medical condition, prolonged solitary confinement, and overall treatment while in custody.
Khan’s aides have described the conditions as “inhuman” and “illegal,” alleging deliberate neglect and mistreatment. The report calls for urgent medical evaluation and intervention, highlighting what it characterizes as a marked deterioration in the former prime minister’s physical health.
Authorities have yet to issue a comprehensive public response to the allegations. The developments are likely to intensify political tensions in Pakistan, as legal proceedings and scrutiny over Khan’s detention continue.
