Khamenei Approves U.S.-Iran Deal, Says Trump Used Pressure to Secure Agreement

Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has issued his first statement following the agreement reached between Iran and the United States, claiming that U.S. President Donald Trump used every possible form of pressure in a desperate effort to secure the deal.

Khamenei said that despite his personal reservations and a differing opinion on the matter, he ultimately approved the agreement between Tehran and Washington. According to him, the decision was made after Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian assured him that the government would protect the rights and interests of the Iranian people.

"The agreement was allowed to move forward because I was assured that the Iranian nation's rights would be safeguarded," Khamenei said, while reiterating that he held a different view regarding the deal.

His remarks provide a glimpse into the internal deliberations surrounding the agreement and highlight the role played by President Pezeshkian in securing approval from Iran's highest authority.
