Putin Warns Ukraine of More Territorial Losses if Trump Peace Plan Is Rejected

Moscow:
Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a stern warning to Kyiv, stating that if Ukraine refuses to engage with former U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed peace plan, it should be prepared for further battlefield setbacks.
Putin said that Ukraine and what he called its “European war-instigators” must realize that the fall of Kupyansk—a key frontline city captured by Russian forces—could be repeated in other strategic sectors if talks are rejected.
The Russian president noted that the current military situation remains “acceptable” for Moscow and suggested that Russia is ready to continue its operations unless meaningful negotiations take place.
Trump’s proposed peace framework has not been fully disclosed publicly, but reports suggest it includes ceasefire mechanisms and certain territorial compromises—terms that Kyiv has consistently opposed.
Putin’s remarks come at a time when diplomatic discussions are intensifying and speculation grows around the potential re-emergence of U.S. mediation in the ongoing Russia–Ukraine conflict.
