India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met Israel’s Agriculture Minister Avi Dichter in New Delhi to strengthen bilateral cooperation in trade, agricultural innovation, and food security.
During the meeting, both ministers discussed collaboration in modern farming technologies, precision agriculture, water management, sustainable crop solutions, and agri-startup ecosystems. The leaders also emphasised increasing bilateral trade and accelerating joint agricultural projects.
Piyush Goyal stated that India values its deep partnership with Israel, especially in agriculture where Israeli technologies like drip irrigation, greenhouse cultivation, and post-harvest systems have significantly improved productivity in many Indian states.
Avi Dichter expressed Israel’s interest in expanding R&D partnerships, knowledge-sharing programmes, and advanced technological cooperation.
Both sides committed to driving innovation-led growth in agriculture and addressing shared challenges such as climate change, water efficiency, and global supply chain disruptions.
