Rajpal Yadav Faces Fresh Trouble as Bank Moves to Auction Properties Over ₹16.61 Crore Loan
The actor's ancestral property in Shahjahanpur and assets in Mumbai have come under recovery proceedings after an alleged loan default linked to his film Ata Pata Laapata.
Actor Rajpal Yadav's legal and financial troubles have deepened after the Central Bank of India initiated recovery proceedings over an outstanding loan of ₹16.61 crore. The bank has issued auction notices for two of his properties in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and has also begun action against his assets in Mumbai.
According to reports, the loan was taken to finance Rajpal Yadav's film Ata Pata Laapata. The outstanding amount includes both the principal and accrued interest.
Recovery officials from the bank's Mumbai branch visited the actor's ancestral village in Shahjahanpur and pasted auction notices on his properties. The two properties—located in the city and his native village, including agricultural land and a house—are valued at approximately ₹3.19 crore. They are scheduled to be auctioned online on September 9, 2026.
The report further states that Rajpal Yadav had mortgaged properties belonging to his wife, Radha Yadav, and his mother, Godavari Yadav, as collateral for the loan. Recovery proceedings are also underway against his Mumbai properties.
The latest development comes shortly after the actor faced legal trouble in a cheque bounce case involving ₹9 crore. As of now, Rajpal Yadav has not issued any official statement regarding the bank's recovery action.
On the professional front, Rajpal Yadav was recently seen in Akshay Kumar's Welcome to the Jungle.
