Relief for India: Two LPG Tankers Set to Arrive via Strait of Hormuz

Amid rising tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, India has received a significant boost to its energy security. Two LPG tankers — BW Tyr and BW Elm — are expected to reach Mumbai and Mangaluru within the next 48 hours, carrying around 94,000 tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a critical route for global energy supplies, and any instability in the region directly impacts India’s imports. Despite the uncertainty, the safe passage of these tankers brings much-needed relief.

However, around 18 Indian vessels are still stranded in the region. In this situation, the Indian Navy’s vigilance and strategic deployment continue to play a vital role in safeguarding maritime routes and ensuring national security.
