CAIT and ITPO Sign Historic MoU to Organise ‘Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026’ at Bharat Mandapam
Mega trade event in New Delhi to promote ‘Made in India’ products, MSMEs, startups and global business opportunities
New Delhi, May 13, 2026: In a major development for India’s trade and commerce sector, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) and the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) have signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly organise the “Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026”.
The four-day mega event will be held from August 12 to 15, 2026, at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi and is expected to showcase the strength, innovation and capabilities of India’s trade and industry sectors on a global platform.
The Mahotsav will be organised around the theme “Made in India, Made for India, Made for the World”, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of promoting Swadeshi products and strengthening the country’s self-reliant economy.
According to organisers, the event will provide a common national and international platform for traders, industries, MSMEs, startups, exporters, artisans, women entrepreneurs and young business leaders from across the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Member of Parliament and CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal described the agreement as a historic moment for India’s trading community.
He said that for the first time, the country’s largest traders’ body and the Government of India’s premier trade promotion organisation are coming together on such a large scale to provide Indian businesses with a global platform.
Khandelwal stated that “Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026” is not just an exhibition but a grand showcase of India’s economic strength, entrepreneurship, innovation and the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat. He added that the event would create new business opportunities and provide international recognition to Indian trade and industry.
The Mahotsav is expected to play a major role in advancing initiatives such as “Vocal for Local”, “Make in India”, “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Local to Global”, while helping Indian products and services gain greater access to domestic and international markets.
Organisers said the event will feature more than 1,000 exhibition stalls displaying Indian products and services. Over 2 lakh business delegates, 5,000 international delegates and more than 10 lakh visitors are expected to attend the event. Several Central and State Government departments will also participate and showcase initiatives aimed at boosting trade and industrial growth.
The Mahotsav will witness participation from sectors including MSMEs, startups, agriculture, food processing, electronics, technology, textiles, handicrafts, automobiles, lifestyle and digital commerce.
Apart from exhibitions, the event will include B2B and B2G meetings, global buyer-seller interactions, investors’ conferences, startup showcases, policy dialogues, cultural programmes and special “Shark Tank”-style investor pitching sessions.
Khandelwal said the Mahotsav would become a milestone in connecting Indian trade and industry with global markets, promoting exports, empowering MSMEs and startups and positioning India as a major international trade hub.
He also appealed to trade associations, industry groups, corporates, MSMEs, startups and State Governments across the country to actively participate in the event.
