SRH Edge Past CSK by 10 Runs in Thrilling IPL 2026 Clash

Sunrisers Hyderabad held their nerve to secure a 10-run victory over Chennai Super Kings in Match 27 of IPL 2026 in Hyderabad, successfully defending a competitive total of 194.

SRH got off to a blazing start after being asked to bat first. Abhishek Sharma led the charge with a stunning 59 off just 22 balls, while Travis Head supported with 23, as the duo powered their team to 75/0 in under six overs. However, CSK fought back quickly with Mukesh Choudhary picking up two wickets in consecutive deliveries.

The momentum shifted again when Heinrich Klaasen anchored the innings with a composed 59 off 39 balls, guiding SRH to a solid 194/8. For CSK, Jamie Overton (3/37) and Anshul Kamboj (3/22) impressed with the ball, especially in the death overs.

In reply, CSK showed early promise despite losing Sanju Samson cheaply. Ayush Mhatre injected momentum with a quickfire 30, but his injury halted the chase at a crucial moment. Wickets continued to fall, including Ruturaj Gaikwad and Dewald Brevis, putting CSK under pressure.

A brief partnership between Sarfaraz Khan and Matt Short kept hopes alive, but SRH’s disciplined bowling in the final overs proved decisive. CSK eventually fell short, finishing 10 runs behind the target.

Eshan Malinga emerged as the match-winner with figures of 3/29, earning the Player of the Match award for his crucial breakthroughs.

With this win, SRH climb to fourth place in the points table, while CSK slip to seventh, reflecting on missed opportunities in a chase that slipped away.
