Star cricketer wants to shift his base from Delhi to Uttarakhand but says finding suitable land has become a challenge
Indian cricket star and wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has made a personal request to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami regarding his plans to settle in his home state.
At around 12:45 am on August 8, Pant posted on social media platform X, tagging CM Dhami directly. The cricketer revealed that he wants to shift his base from Delhi and purchase land in Uttarakhand, but has been struggling to find a suitable and clearly identified property for the past three years.
Expressing his love for Uttarakhand, Pant requested the Chief Minister to help him with the land acquisition process. He said the lack of clarity regarding available land has turned the process into a “nightmare.”
Pant is currently preparing for India’s upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, which is scheduled to begin on August 15.
The cricketer has also recently made headlines for his contribution to Uttarakhand’s tax revenues. According to the information cited in the report, Pant paid ₹23.84 crore in personal income tax during the financial year 2025-26, making him the highest individual taxpayer in the state. The previous year, he reportedly paid around ₹10.5 crore in tax.
Pant’s public appeal to the Uttarakhand government has sparked attention, particularly as the cricketer seeks to establish a permanent connection with his home state.
