CSK Rise, KKR Remain Winless: IPL 2026 Points Table Update After Chepauk Clash
Chennai Super Kings secure second straight win to climb standings, while Kolkata Knight Riders continue to struggle at the bottom
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) registered a crucial 32-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Chepauk, marking their second consecutive victory in IPL 2026. After a poor start with three straight losses, CSK have now improved to two wins in five matches and moved up to eighth place with four points.
KKR, meanwhile, remain winless after five games and sit at the bottom of the table with just one point, earned from a washed-out match. Their net run rate of -1.383 is currently the worst in the league, reflecting their ongoing struggles.
At the top, Rajasthan Royals lead the standings with eight points, followed by Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, both enjoying strong starts to the season.
In the Orange Cap race, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Heinrich Klaasen leads with 224 runs, closely followed by teammate Ishan Kishan (213). Rajasthan Royals’ Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (200) and RCB’s Rajat Patidar (195) are also in contention. CSK’s Sanju Samson has entered the top five with 185 runs.
The Purple Cap battle is equally tight. Gujarat Titans’ Prasidh Krishna holds the top spot with 10 wickets, narrowly ahead of CSK’s Anshul Kamboj, who is level on wickets but behind on economy rate. Ravi Bishnoi, Jofra Archer, and Prince Yadav complete the top five.
In the match, CSK posted 192 before their bowlers sealed the win. Spinners Noor Ahmad and Akeal Hosein played key roles, while early wickets from Kamboj and Khaleel Ahmed derailed KKR’s chase, keeping their opponents winless this season.
