Akash Deep, Mukesh Kumar Must Stay Active in Cricket to Retain Bihar DSP Posts

Indian fast bowlers Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar, who have represented Bihar in cricket, have been appointed as Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) in the state. However, their continuation in government service comes with a specific condition linked to their cricket careers.

According to a recent notification issued by the Bihar Home Department, both cricketers will have to sign a five-year bond requiring them to remain active in competitive cricket during the period.

Under the terms of the bond, Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar must continue participating in cricket tournaments as active players while serving as DSPs. Their association with competitive cricket is therefore a key condition of their government appointments.

The notification reportedly states that failure to comply with the bond conditions, including discontinuing participation in cricket competitions as active players, could put their DSP positions at risk.

The move allows the two cricketers to combine their sporting careers with government service, while also making their continued involvement in cricket an important requirement for retaining their posts.
