MK Stalin Gives Big Relief to Thalapathy Vijay, Says DMK Won’t Challenge TVK Government for Six Months
DMK chief says Tamil Nadu should avoid a constitutional crisis as TVK stakes claim to form government with Congress support.
Tamil Nadu politics witnessed a dramatic development after M. K. Stalin announced that his party would not challenge a possible government led by Thalapathy Vijay and his TVK party for the next six months.
The statement came after TVK, with the support of Congress, reportedly staked claim to form the government in Tamil Nadu. At the same time, the AIADMK shifted its MLAs to Puducherry amid growing political uncertainty in the state.
In an interview with a Tamil newspaper, Stalin said that he did not want Tamil Nadu to face a constitutional crisis. He stated that if TVK forms the government, it should be allowed to continue welfare schemes and administrative work without disruption.
“We do not want a constitutional crisis in the state. Let the TVK government function and continue all welfare schemes without interruption,” Stalin reportedly said.
The DMK chief further added that his party would not create any challenge for the new government for at least six months. His statement is being seen as a major political boost for Vijay, who recently entered active politics and emerged as a strong contender through his TVK party.
Meanwhile, the DMK has also called an important meeting of its newly elected MLAs, indicating that key political decisions may follow in the coming days.
Stalin’s remarks have also put an end to speculation about a possible understanding between the DMK and AIADMK amid the evolving political situation in Tamil Nadu.
For Vijay, the development is being viewed as a significant breakthrough, as the actor-turned-politician attempts to establish himself as a major force in state politics shortly after entering the political arena.
