On the occasion of Shaheed Diwas, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta paid tribute to India’s freedom fighters by unveiling a statue of Bhagat Singh at the RCS office परिसर in Delhi.
The ceremony was held with great reverence, commemorating the sacrifice and legacy of Bhagat Singh, one of India’s most iconic revolutionaries. The unveiling of the statue served as a symbolic gesture to honor his courage, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to the nation’s independence.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by freedom fighters, especially on Shaheed Diwas, which marks the martyrdom of Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru, and Sukhdev Thapar in 1931. She emphasized that their ideals continue to inspire generations and strengthen the spirit of nationalism across the country.
Officials, staff members, and citizens present at the event paid floral tributes and observed the occasion with solemn respect. The installation of the statue is expected to serve as a constant reminder of the sacrifices made by India’s heroes and inspire young minds to contribute towards nation-building.
The event also reflected the Delhi government’s continued efforts to preserve and promote the legacy of freedom fighters through public memorials and commemorative initiatives.
Shaheed Diwas is observed across India every year on March 23 to honor the bravery and sacrifice of those who laid down their lives for the country’s freedom.
