Waqf Board Urges Devotees to Avoid Roadside Namaz as Bhopal Tightens Eid Security

New Delhi, May 28: Ahead of Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid) celebrations, the Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board has appealed to the Muslim community to offer prayers only at mosques and Eidgahs, urging people to avoid performing namaz on roads or public spaces.

The board issued special guidelines for Eid celebrations, emphasizing peace, communal harmony, and adherence to administrative protocols. Local authorities have been asked to make necessary arrangements in areas expecting large gatherings.

To ensure smooth celebrations, the police administration has intensified security measures across Bhopal. More than 200 police personnel have been deployed around mosques, Eidgahs, and dargahs to maintain law and order during the festival.

The Waqf Board also advised against sharing videos or photographs of animal sacrifice on social media, warning that such content could trigger unnecessary controversy or social tension. Sacrifices have been instructed to take place only at designated locations.

Eid prayers in Bhopal are scheduled across multiple locations, including the main Eidgah at 6:30 a.m., Jama Masjid at 6:45 a.m., Taj-ul-Masajid at 7 a.m., and other mosques at staggered timings.

Meanwhile, the Municipal Corporation has arranged special waste disposal systems for Qurbani remains across the city’s 85 wards to maintain hygiene and cleanliness.

Authorities are also monitoring social media platforms closely, with warnings of strict action against objectionable or inflammatory content targeting any community. Community leaders and mosque committees have appealed to citizens to celebrate Eid peacefully and in the spirit of brotherhood.
