PM-SVANidhi Public Welfare Fair to Be Held in Gurugram on June 23
Street vendors to get loan assistance and welfare scheme benefits; Mayor Raj Rani Malhotra and Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya to attend.
A district-level Public Welfare Fair under the Prime Minister Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM-SVANidhi) Scheme will be organized on June 23 in Gurugram to facilitate financial assistance and welfare benefits for street vendors. The event will commence at 10:00 a.m. at the State Bank of India’s Mehrauli Road branch premises.
According to Municipal Corporation Gurugram City Project Officer Dwarka Prasad, the fair aims to provide loan facilities to eligible street vendors, expedite the disposal of pending applications, and connect beneficiaries with the formal banking system.
Representatives from various banks will be present to assist applicants and process loan requests.
Mayor Raj Rani Malhotra and Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya will grace the event as chief guests. The programme will focus on promoting financial inclusion and creating awareness about various government welfare initiatives among street vendors and small entrepreneurs.
Beneficiaries attending the fair will also receive information about several Central and State Government schemes. Awareness sessions on digital payments, banking services, and self-employment opportunities will be conducted to encourage financial literacy and economic empowerment.
The Municipal Corporation Gurugram is organizing the event in collaboration with banks and concerned departments. Officials said efforts would be made to provide on-the-spot loan approvals and disbursements to eligible beneficiaries, enabling more street vendors to benefit from the PM-SVANidhi scheme.
The PM-SVANidhi scheme has emerged as a key initiative for empowering small traders and street vendors by providing affordable credit and integrating them into the formal economy. The district-level Public Welfare Fair is expected to further strengthen these efforts by ensuring easier access to financial services and government support.
