PM Highlights Timeless Wisdom on Knowledge Sharing
“पूर्णमदः पूर्णमिदं पूर्णात् पूर्णमुदच्यते। पूर्णस्य पूर्णमादाय पूर्णमेवावशिष्यते॥”
New Delhi, Feb 20: The Prime Minister emphasised the enduring and self-sustaining nature of knowledge, noting that true understanding remains whole and undiminished even when shared, expanded, or built upon. Reflecting on the philosophy of intellectual growth, he observed that learning and generating new insights from existing knowledge unlocks limitless possibilities for innovation while preserving the integrity of the original intelligence.
Drawing from the Isha Upanishad, the Prime Minister invoked a celebrated Sanskrit verse to illustrate the concept of completeness:
“पूर्णमदः पूर्णमिदं पूर्णात् पूर्णमुदच्यते। पूर्णस्य पूर्णमादाय पूर्णमेवावशिष्यते॥”
The verse conveys the idea that completeness gives rise to completeness, and even when completeness is taken from completeness, what remains is still complete — a metaphor often associated with the infinite nature of wisdom and consciousness.
The Prime Minister’s reflection resonated with themes of knowledge sharing, creativity, and technological progress, reinforcing the idea that collaborative learning and intellectual exchange can continuously generate new opportunities without depleting the foundational source of understanding.
