PM Modi Shares New Video on Anti-Paper Leak Law Amid Ongoing Meta Row
Prime Minister says the new legislation will ensure fair examinations, while the government continues to seek answers from Meta over the temporary removal of his earlier Facebook post.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday shared a new video highlighting the Centre's recently enacted Anti-Paper Leak Law, describing it as a major step toward ensuring transparency and fairness in competitive examinations across the country.
In the video, the Prime Minister acknowledged the concerns raised by students and young aspirants over examination integrity and said the government had responded by introducing a strong legal framework to curb paper leaks. He emphasized that the law aims to protect the future of honest students and strengthen public confidence in the examination system.
The fresh video comes amid an ongoing controversy involving Meta, after the company temporarily removed one of the Prime Minister's Facebook videos related to the NEET examination issue. Meta later apologized, calling the removal an inadvertent error, and restored the content.
The Centre has since adopted a stricter stance, summoning Meta's senior officials to explain how the incident occurred. The company has also assured the government that it has implemented additional safeguards for VVIP and high-profile accounts to prevent similar mistakes in the future.
