Kanwar Yatra Alert: Entry Gates Shut at Several Namo Bharat Stations Till August 12, Here's What Commuters Need to Know
Several station gates and parking facilities will remain closed from August 4 to 12 for security and traffic management, while Namo Bharat train services will continue without disruption.
Several entry and exit gates at Namo Bharat stations will remain temporarily closed from August 4 to August 12 as part of enhanced security and traffic management measures during the Kanwar Yatra. Authorities have clarified that although access through some station gates and parking facilities will be restricted, train operations will continue as usual.
Gate No. 2 will remain closed at Modipuram, Meerut North, MES Colony, Bhainsali, Meerut Central, Brahmpuri, Shatabdi Nagar, Rithani, Partapur, Meerut South, Modinagar North, Modinagar South, Muradnagar, and Guldhar stations.
Meanwhile, Begumpul Station will have Gates 2 and 3 closed, Duhai Station will shut Gates 3 and 4, and Ghaziabad Station will keep Gates 3 and 5 closed for the duration of the advisory. Parking facilities located near these gates will also remain unavailable. However, commuters can continue using the other operational entry and exit gates at all stations.
Officials have emphasized that there will be no impact on train services. Namo Bharat trains on the Sarai Kale Khan–Modipuram corridor will continue to run normally until August 14, operating daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM with a frequency of one train every eight minutes.
The temporary restrictions have been put in place to ensure smooth traffic movement and strengthen security arrangements during the Kanwar Yatra, while allowing passengers to travel with minimal inconvenience.
