India Rejects China’s Renaming of Places in Arunachal Pradesh

India has firmly rejected China’s latest attempt to rename several locations in Arunachal Pradesh, stating that such actions do not change the ground reality. The government made it clear that Arunachal Pradesh “was, is, and will always remain” an integral part of India.

Responding strongly to Beijing’s move, Indian authorities emphasized that repeatedly making such claims or renaming places cannot turn falsehood into truth. The statement underlines India’s consistent position on the northeastern state, which China claims as part of South Tibet.

The development comes amid ongoing tensions between India and China over border disputes, particularly along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). India has repeatedly dismissed China’s attempts to assert its claims through symbolic measures such as renaming territories.

Officials reiterated that such actions are “baseless and unacceptable,” reaffirming India’s sovereignty over Arunachal Pradesh and rejecting any efforts to undermine its territorial integrity.
