Four Friends Allegedly Dine and Dash at Agra’s Five-Star Hotel, Leave ₹41,000 Bill Unpaid
Four youths allegedly enjoyed a lavish dinner at a luxury hotel near the Taj Mahal before escaping without paying the bill, leaving hotel management shocked and police investigating the case.
A luxury five-star hotel in Agra has become the center of attention after four young men allegedly dined at the property and left without paying a hefty bill of ₹41,477. The incident reportedly took place at The Oberoi Amarvilas, a premium hotel located near the Taj Mahal.
According to reports, the incident occurred on the night of May 7, when a man identified as Asad Khan allegedly booked a table for four at the hotel’s restaurant, Bellevue, through an online reservation. Around 9:45 PM, the four men reportedly arrived at the hotel in a Swift Dzire car with a Gwalior registration number.
The group allegedly ordered expensive dishes and enjoyed a lavish dinner without raising any suspicion among hotel staff, as they behaved like regular guests throughout the evening.
However, when it was time to settle the bill, the group allegedly executed a carefully planned escape. Reports suggest that three of the men quietly left the restaurant one by one and exited the hotel premises on foot through the parking area. Meanwhile, Asad Khan reportedly remained seated at the table, preventing staff from becoming suspicious.
After some time, Khan allegedly excused himself under the pretext of going out for a cigarette. Instead, he reportedly headed to the parking lot, got into the Swift Dzire, and drove away without clearing the bill.
Hotel staff became suspicious when none of the diners returned. The management later reviewed CCTV footage, which allegedly revealed the sequence of events and confirmed that the group had left without making payment.
According to reports, hotel authorities initially tried to contact the accused using the phone number provided during the booking process, but the number was found switched off. Instead of immediately approaching the police, the hotel management reportedly spent nearly 24 days attempting to trace the suspects and recover the dues.
After failing to make progress, the hotel finally lodged a complaint with the police. Based on the complaint, the Taj Security Police Station registered a fraud case against Asad Khan and his three unidentified companions.
During the investigation, police reportedly found that the car used by the suspects was registered in the name of a woman from Gwalior. Authorities are now examining CCTV footage and vehicle registration details to identify and trace the accused.
The unusual case involving a reputed five-star hotel and an alleged “dine-and-dash” scheme has since become a topic of public discussion in Agra.
