The Government of Haryana has rolled out the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana (DDLLY), a women-focused social security initiative designed to strengthen financial independence and improve the socio-economic well-being of eligible women across the state. The scheme provides a fixed monthly assistance of ₹2,100 to qualifying beneficiaries, reinforcing the state’s broader push toward women empowerment.

Under the programme, women aged 23 years and above belonging to families with a verified annual income of ₹1 lakh or less, as recorded in the Family Information Database Repository (FIDR), are eligible to apply. Additionally, the applicant — or her husband in the case of women married into Haryana from other states — must have been a resident of Haryana for at least 15 years at the time of application. Officials noted that the financial assistance will be transferred directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, ensuring transparency and minimizing delays. Beneficiaries also retain the option to voluntarily choose a lesser amount if they wish.

Importantly, the scheme places no cap on the number of eligible women per family, a provision intended to broaden coverage and maximize support for economically vulnerable households.

However, the government has clarified exclusion rules to prevent duplication of benefits. Women already receiving assistance under specified social security schemes — including old age allowances, widow pensions, Divyang assistance, Ladli allowances, and other notified programmes — will not qualify for DDLLY benefits. Exceptions have been made for women receiving financial support under certain medical assistance schemes, such as aid for advanced-stage cancer and rare diseases.

Policy analysts view the scheme as a significant intervention aimed at providing predictable income support to women, improving household financial stability, and enhancing women’s participation in economic and social spheres. The initiative is also expected to contribute to long-term goals of gender equity and social protection within the state.

Authorities have advised applicants to verify eligibility details and application procedures through official government channels and designated service centres.
