A major escalation unfolded after Iran allegedly struck a refinery operated by Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest oil producer with daily output capacity exceeding 10 million barrels. The attack reportedly triggered temporary disruptions, pushing global crude prices up by 4.2% in early trading.

Iranian state-linked channels also showcased underground tunnels filled with “Shahed” drones, claiming hundreds of units are positioned for rapid deployment. Meanwhile, Tehran claimed that a US-made F-15 fighter jet was shot down near Kuwait, a claim denied by the Kuwaiti Defence Ministry.

The crisis widened as Israel-Iran exchanges intensified. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi termed the West Asia situation “deeply concerning,” announcing evacuation plans for Indian nationals. In Srinagar, protests erupted over reports linked to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, leading to police action.

The aviation sector faced heavy turbulence, with 87 international flights from Delhi cancelled and 760 foreign services suspended. Gold surged by ₹7,000 to ₹1.66 lakh per 10 grams, while the Sensex fell 1,500 points below 80,000, reflecting investor anxiety.
