Iran Embassy in New Delhi Opens Condolence Book for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

The Embassy of Iran in New Delhi has opened a condolence book to honour the memory of Ali Khamenei, the late Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The initiative allows diplomats, officials, and members of the public to pay their respects and express solidarity with the Iranian people.

According to the embassy’s announcement, the condolence book will be available for visitors on March 5, 6, and 9 between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm at the embassy premises in New Delhi. People wishing to convey their sympathies and record messages of condolence have been invited to sign the book during these hours.

The tribute follows the reported assassination of Khamenei on February 28, 2026, during large-scale military strikes targeting Iran. His death marked the end of a leadership that had guided the country since 1989.

Following the news, mourning gatherings and condolence events have been held in several countries, including India, where members of the Shia community and diplomatic representatives have expressed grief over his passing.

The condolence book at the Iranian Embassy serves as a symbolic gesture of respect, reflecting international expressions of sympathy during a period of national mourning in Iran.
