Indian Embassy Issues Safety Advisory for Nationals in Qatar
Flight operations suspended and citizens advised to stay indoors amid prevailing situation
The Embassy of India, Doha has issued a safety advisory for Indian nationals living in Qatar, urging them to remain cautious and follow instructions issued by local authorities.
In the advisory released on March 4, 2026, the embassy asked Indian citizens to remain indoors and avoid unnecessary movement due to the prevailing situation. People have also been advised to step outside only in cases of absolute necessity and stay away from windows, balconies and exposed areas. The embassy further urged citizens to rely only on official sources for updates.
To assist Indian nationals, the embassy has introduced an additional 24×7 emergency helpline. Citizens can contact +974 55647502 and +974 55362508 for help. Queries can also be sent via email to cons.doha@mea.gov.in.
Meanwhile, flight operations at Hamad International Airport have been temporarily suspended following the closure of Qatari airspace. Flights operated by Qatar Airways and other airlines are currently halted.
The embassy stated that it remains in close coordination with Qatari authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of Indian nationals in the country.
