Nora Fatehi Apologises Before NCW Over ‘Sarke Chunar’ Controversy

Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi appeared before the National Commission for Women on Thursday in connection with the controversy surrounding the song ‘Sarke Chunar’. During her appearance, the actress apologised to the commission and accepted responsibility over the matter.

Earlier, actor Sanjay Dutt and singer-rapper Badshah had also issued apologies regarding the controversy linked to the song.

Speaking after appearing before the commission, Nora Fatehi said she believes it is important to act responsibly in society.

“I have apologised to the NCW in this matter. It is important to be a responsible citizen, which is why I have taken full responsibility for the incident. This is necessary for society,” she said.

The actress also announced that she would sponsor the education of 100 orphan girls as part of a social welfare initiative.

The controversy over ‘Sarke Chunar’ had triggered criticism on social media and drew the attention of the National Commission for Women, leading to questioning of the artists associated with the song.
