Mardaani 3 Set for OTT Release After Successful Theatrical Run

The action-packed Hindi film Mardaani 3, starring Rani Mukerji, is gearing up for its digital debut following a successful theatrical run earlier this year. The film, which continued the popular Mardaani franchise, emerged as one of the major Hindi box-office successes of 2026.

According to media reports, the crime-thriller is expected to begin streaming on the OTT platform Netflix from March 27, 2026. However, the makers have not yet officially confirmed the digital release date.

Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Yash Raj Films, the film was released in theatres on January 30, 2026. It marks the return of Rani Mukerji as fearless police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy, a character she first portrayed in the earlier installments of the franchise.

Plot and Storyline

In the third installment, Shivani Shivaji Roy takes on one of her toughest missions yet. The story follows her investigation into the mysterious disappearance of 93 girls, which leads her into the dangerous world of organised crime and human trafficking. As she uncovers the truth, she confronts a powerful criminal network and works relentlessly to dismantle the trafficking racket and rescue the victims.

The film also introduces new characters played by Janki Bodiwala and Mallika Prasad. Notably, Mallika Prasad appears as the franchise’s first female antagonist, adding a fresh twist to the narrative.

Audience and Industry Response Rani Mukerji’s performance in the film has been widely praised by audiences and members of the film industry. Actor Shah Rukh Khan also lauded her performance, expressing confidence that she once again brought strength, courage and compassion to the character of Shivani Shivaji Roy.

What’s Next for Rani Mukerji Meanwhile, Rani Mukerji is preparing for her upcoming film King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The movie features an ensemble cast including Suhana Khan and is scheduled to release in theatres on December 24, 2026.
