Awarapan 2 Sets the Box Office on Fire, Surpasses Emraan Hashmi Hits

Awarapan 2 is enjoying a remarkable run at the box office, with the film witnessing strong demand on BookMyShow. The sequel sold more than 20,000 tickets per hour on Friday and Saturday, an impressive pace for a film that does not feature a conventional superstar.

The film achieved a major milestone on Friday when it surpassed the lifetime earnings of the 2007 original Awarapan within just eight hours. The first film, which had failed to make a mark at the box office, earned around ₹7.75 crore net during its entire theatrical run.

By Saturday afternoon, Awarapan 2 had also moved past the lifetime collections of several successful Emraan Hashmi films. The sequel has already crossed the figures of Haq (₹20 crore), Raaz 2 (₹25.50 crore), Ek Thi Daayan (₹26 crore), and Jannat (₹30 crore).

Meanwhile, Bantwara 1947 also recorded a significant jump on its second day. The film collected ₹13.50 crore net from 8,071 shows across India, registering a massive 134.8% growth over its opening-day collection of ₹5.75 crore net.

With both films showing strong momentum, the weekend could prove crucial in determining how far their theatrical runs can go.
