PVR INOX to Screen FIFA World Cup 2026 Knockout Matches Live in Cinemas
Football fans across select Indian cities will be able to experience the FIFA World Cup 2026 on the big screen from June 29.
PVR INOX Limited has partnered with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) to bring live screenings of the FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout matches to cinema halls across select cities in India.
The screenings will begin on June 29, 2026, starting with the Round of 32, and will continue through the tournament's biggest fixtures, including the final. Fans will get to watch the world's top football teams compete on PVR INOX's premium large-format screens, enhanced by advanced projection technology and immersive surround sound.
Announcing the initiative, Gautam Dutta, CEO – Revenue & Operations, PVR INOX, said football has a unique ability to unite people across cultures, and the company aims to recreate a stadium-like atmosphere inside its cinemas. He added that the partnership reflects the growing popularity of global football among Indian audiences while offering fans an unforgettable viewing experience.
The collaboration is part of PVR INOX's strategy to transform cinemas into multi-format entertainment destinations by expanding beyond traditional movie screenings. The company expects live sporting events to attract larger audiences and strengthen community viewing experiences.
