IPL 2026: Jaiswal, Sooryavanshi Shine as RR Beat MI by 27 Runs
Teen prodigy Sooryavanshi stuns with fearless debut as Jaiswal’s blistering fifty powers Rajasthan to the top
New Delhi, April 8: Rajasthan Royals continued their dominant run in IPL 2026, defeating Mumbai Indians by 27 runs in a rain-shortened 11-over clash in Guwahati.
Batting first, Rajasthan posted a massive 150/3, thanks to a fiery opening stand between Yashasvi Jaiswal and 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The teenage sensation impressed instantly, smashing Jasprit Bumrah for a six off his very first ball and racing to 39 off just 14 deliveries.
Jaiswal anchored the innings with a brilliant unbeaten 77 off 32 balls, registering his second consecutive half-century and ensuring Rajasthan made full use of the shortened format.
In reply, Mumbai Indians faltered early and never recovered. Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya fell cheaply as wickets tumbled at regular intervals. Ravi Bishnoi’s crucial double strike removed Pandya and Tilak Varma, effectively ending the chase.
Mumbai finished at 123/9, falling well short of the target.
With this win, Rajasthan Royals notched up their third straight victory and climbed to the top of the points table, while Mumbai Indians slipped to their second loss in three matches.
