New Delhi, May 28: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday announced the appointment of Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra as the new president of its Delhi unit.

In an official statement issued by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh, the party said that BJP National President Nitin Naveen approved Malhotra’s appointment as the Delhi Pradesh President with immediate effect.

The appointment marks a key organisational development for the party in the national capital and is expected to strengthen BJP’s political and administrative coordination in Delhi.

The official letter, dated May 28, 2026, stated that the decision comes into force immediately. Copies of the appointment notice have been shared with national office bearers, state in-charges, Delhi Chief Minister, and other senior party functionaries.

Harsh Malhotra, who currently serves as a Union Minister of State in the Government of India, is expected to take charge of the Delhi BJP organisation in the coming days.
